| Q: How old do you have to be? A: To get any artwork done by me, you have to be 18. Q: How much does a tattoo cost? A: Tattoos can cost anywhere from nothing to thousands of dollars depending on who you get tattooed by. My rates start at $150.00 USD per hour with a 2 hour minimum. Upon completion of the first 6 hours, my rate drops to $100.00 USD per hour. This price is per client, not per piece. Q: How long will my tattoo take? A: Usually projects can take anywhere from 1-2 hours and up to multiple sittings at 3-5 hours a per sitting. Q: Do colors cost more? A: Some people will charge per color. Because I charge per hour, the client gets as many colors as necessary to achieve the desired goal. Q: Other places will charge for a draw up. How much do you charge? A: Nothing. Ever. Because I love to create on paper the images a client has in his/her mind, I feel it would be against my personal beliefs to charge someone for this. This service is a as much for my pleasure as it is for the clients. Q: Can you design something for me then email me the design so I can think about it? A: No. All my work is done in the presence of the client. Although I do recommend you sending me a picture or sketch of what you have in mind to give me an idea on how much time we will need for your appointment. Q: Where is this shop located? A: Tatlantis Obscura , where I do the majority of my work, is located on the corner of Desert Inn rd and Durango in Las Vegas. 8416 W. Desert Inn rd. #102 Las Vegas, NV 89117. Click here for map! Q: Can I just come in for a tattoo? A: No. Due to the nature of my work and the focus I put into each piece, plus the amount of calls and emails I receive, I can only perform my work by appointment only. If you would like more spontaneous service from qualified and talented artists, you can visit my Walk In Studio located at 4440 S. Maryland Pkwy. #111 on the North East corner of Maryland Pkwy and Harmon in the Promenade Center, Open from 11am to Midnight or later!. Click here for map! Q: How will I know if my appointment has been confirmed ? A: You will see a green check mark next to your name on my online appointment book once your appointment has been locked in. Q: My appointment HAS NOT been confirmed. What do I do? A: Usually I will confirm all appointments for the month at the beginning of the month. I will not confirm short notice appointments or same day appointments regardless of the situation. If you see your appointment hasn't been confirmed and you are worried, you can set something up with one of my other artists at the UNLV location: 4440 S. Maryland Pkwy. #111 on the North East corner of Maryland Pkwy and Harmon in the Promenade Center. Click here for map! 7 days, 11am to midnight, 702-641-7546 Q: Is it ok to show up early to my appointment? A: Highly unrecommended. This being my personal appointment only studio, I come here to work on my artistic endeavors. There is no lobby, no lounge and no where to wait. Please arrive when you're scheduled. Q: What if I'm running late? A: I will give you a ten (10) minute grace period for the time we have allotted for you. If I haven't heard from you by then, you will have to reschedule. Q: I just set up a consultation. Should I also set up an appointment for the actual work to get done as well? A: Considering how fast my schedule fills up, it is highly reccomended that you also find a spot for yourself for the actual work to get started and possible and for a few consecutive sessions at least 2 weeks apart to allow for healing. Q: What is the difference between Skin Art and Tattoos? A: In my opinion, SKIN ART is basically non-stereotypical tattoo art. Often performed by a professional and someone who can immediately relate and correspond with the human being in every one. A Skin Artist is a person who is a fine artist first and foremost and who happens to be tattooing as a way to support themselves and their loved ones, not just a completely tattooed rock star who only designs skulls and monsters with only the benefit of their wallet in mind. A tattoo is what you get when you're drunk or don't care. SKIN ART takes time, research, talent and responsibility. Q: Do tattoos hurt? A: It all depends on the individual, location of the tattoo, mood, mentality etc... Q: What should I get? A: When getting work by me, I encourage something that no one else will ever have. A completely original piece of art. Custom designed just for you. Or a reproduction of a timeless classic work of fine art. I will not reproduce a piece of "flash" off a wall. Q: What is "flash" A: "Flash" is the manufactured artwork that you see in almost every tattoo studio in the world. It all comes from the same sources and it's sole purpose is to supply people with tattoo designs that they can't think of themselves. Also it's a way for an artist can make a couple extra bucks by selling his designs to tattoo shops all over the world. I do not do flash. Q: How does darker skin affect a tattoo? A: When a tattoo heals, a layer of skin grows over the tattoo. This layer will act as a tint over the the tattoo, tinting the colors respectfully. Very fair skin will seem translucent and the colors will seem brighter. The darker the skin gets the less bright and vibrant the colors appear. Q: Is it ok to talk while I'm getting a tattoo? A: Of course! I'm not a sociopath and I do enjoy a good conversation, plus talking with me while you're getting tattooed assures me that you're still breathing. Also if you would rather enter some kind of zone you like to be in when you get tattooed, I'm cool with that too. I'm not easily distracted or annoyed. Q: Is tipping necessary in this service? A: Tattooing is a service that most artists just make a commission from, thus tips are greatly appreciated. A tip of 10% to 20% is normal according to how you felt the service was.
